There’s an amazingly candid interview of Manolo Blahnik in Interview magazine right now. Read it! I have to say, I very much agree with Mr. Blahnik: loyalty and friendship are two traits that, while aren’t exactly expounded upon or celebrated in the context of fashion, are incredibly important. 

I feel very lucky to have made a great set of friends in the magazine industry. In particular, there’s a group of us—we all started as assistants together at ELLE magazine and have since scattered to different magazines, brands, and cities—that makes a conscientious effort to stay close and to support and help each other in whatever ways possible. We are each others’ cheerleaders. My point, really, is that whatever industry, or stage of life you’re in (school, working, etc), find your people. And stay true to them.
