Hi Eva! I was wondering what you could tell be about the people behind the scenes at fashion shows... I went to the Fusion 2012 show yesterday (FIT vs Parsons) and I've always been someone who likes to plan events and basically every little thing I do in life and I was wondering how a person gets into planning fashion shows. I am a freshman at Hofstra University on Long Island currently studying business/marketing.

run, don’t walk, to your computer and start applying for summer internships at fashion PR and production companies now (although I suppose if you’re reading this you’re already in front of a computer). think about your favorite designers that show in New York: Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, Oscar de la Renta (those are just a few of mine)—they all hire PR and production companies to stage and to execute shows. ideally, you’ll have an internship that can last through the fall (yes, you’d have to commute in. if it’s what you want to do it’ll be worth it… I once had an intern take a train in every other day from Philly!)—that way, come September, you can work a show and experience the extremely detail-oriented magic firsthand! ps: another reader asked me to name some PR firms and production companies… the cream of the NYC crop: KCD, PR Consulting, Karla Otto

hi eva. i have a ques and it's a matter of life and death! (at least for a shoeaholic like me) planning to buy a boots a size bigger. maybe even 1 1/2. jean michel cazabat leigh boots. that's the onlyy size left. planning to stuff it with insoles and to get pregnant just so my feet will grow bigger to fit in it. think i can pull it off? and how we find the right size for heels? i see bloggers wear them a bit loose. is that how u're supposed to wear them so that it won't blister? many thanks!

well, first of all, I don’t think it’s a good idea to get pregnant just so your feet will get bigger. imagine telling your child “mommy had you just to buy these shoes.” ^.^ (but good thinking). if they’re boots, you have more leeway. up to a size too big is fine, since you can pad them—I suggest a double pad approach (a full-length insert, then a second gel ball of the foot insert). they’ll probably be the comfiest boots you own! as for people wearing heels loose—um, no, that is not how they’re supposed to be worn. in fact, one of my deepest pet peeves is seeing shoes that are too big (as evidenced by girls clattering around like they’re five years old and they’ve borrowed their mother’s shoes) or too small (toe overhang, shudder)

Hi Eva! I love the jewelry you wear so I was wondering what you think of wearing different metals together? Also, what do you think is one type of watch that everyone needs? My one nice watch is a dkny ceramic watch and I wanted another classic one that will go with many outfits. Thanks!

I used to be really obsessive about only wearing one type of metal at a time (and usually gold, since it does look better on my skintone). then my dad gifted me with one of his vintage watches—it has a mix of gold and stainless steel. I adore the watch and think of him every time I wear it (which is almost every day). and since then, my bracelets are a mad jumble of everything: gold, silver, stainless steel, gunmetal—the more textures the better, I say! in terms of watches, I think there are two basic ones that people need (okay, not need. ideally should have): a sporty watch (sounds like you have that covered with your DKNY) and a classic, more refined dress watch for, well, dressy occasion (mine is a Cartier Demoiselle)
