yes, I wear flats to work—especially in the summer, when I like to walk to my appointments and events—or when I’m feeling bleh. a sure sign of me being sick or feeling mopey is if I’m wearing flats. your second question is a great one. if you’d like to work at a magazine as a writer or editor, no, you don’t need a specific artistic skill. I think it’s more important to be well-rounded and curious and passionate about magazines as a whole. if you’d like to work in the art department, however, a degree in graphic design may be helpful! not necessary, just helpful!

thank you! the mirror in most of my outfit pics is from Brocade Home
hmmm, my closet has a rack that can store about 28 pairs of shoes. on the floor of my closet there are about 15 more pairs. and then I have four huge plastic containers filled with shoes (each one has about 25 pairs?). so, uh, yes, that’s a lot!
ai dios mio! just reading your question made my cuticles curdle in fear. do you moisturize your hands enough? I keep a hand cream in every bag (I’m partial to Burt’s Bees and Jurlique) so that I never forget to moisturize. when I’m on the phone or watching telly, I make it a habit to apply cuticle oil as well! Essie and Sally Hansen have good ones in a pen form, so they’re easy and portable
my favorite mascaras at the moment are CoverGirl Lash Blast Length (for long, long, long and ultra-defined lashes) & Eyeko Magic Mascara (for thicker but still separated lashes). in general, I recommend not going overboard and spending too much on mascaras because they dry out quickly and need to be replaced (for hygienic purposes, bleh) every few months!
