how do you feel about pandas?
being chinese, naturally I have a strong affinity to the animal of my people: pandas. duh! ;)
Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I came across your blog, because I really admire your career path! In fact, JHU is my first choice right now, and I will be going into their business department if I get in. Just like you mentioned before in a previous post, I am really fascinated by the fashion-related industry, but I'm so skeptical because I hear it's so competitive and I'm also too scared to tell my parents I want to try something new. Do you have any advice on how you got where you are? I'm also concerned with my little amount of experience in that field.
well, if I’m reading you question right, you’re still in high school. so you absolutely shouldn’t be discouraged by how little experience you have. because, duh, you’re in high school, you shouldn’t have any experience yet! fashion is indeed very competitive and it’s really hard to break into. but if it’s your dream, you should pursue it. I was pre-med and when I quit pre-med (after a dream internship at Harper’s Bazaar), my parents were so disappointed. to tell you the truth, they still don’t really get what I do. but they can see how happy I am and so they don’t question it. I suggest going to the best school that you can get into (and that’s a fit for your personality) and then interning while you’re in school. feel free to ask any other questions too!
